SHORT STORIES – POEMS – GUEST POSTS – TRAVELOGUES – MIDNIGHT MUSING – YOUR STORY – MORNING MOTIVATION
With everyone sitting at home, in the midst of this pandemic, I can understand how difficult it has been to adapt to this new lifestyle…how challenging it is to generate optimism…how confusing it is to find a purpose for ourselves. So, I thought to revive our this dormant blog “The Floating Thoughts” and use it for what it was created in the first place: Share our thoughts floating in our heart and mind.
Spending the entire time within closed walls devoid of any human presence, I often let my mind wander through the lanes of speculations; sometimes just peeling off the layers of my understandings one by one to find answers to my elusive questions. Every time I try to dive deeper into finding answers, I find myself lost a little more than before. The topics remain the same every time – Life; Expectations; Relationships; Purpose; Destiny; Journey. Not that there is anything special about these topics yet unable to decode such simple and trivial concepts, baffles me and keeps me hinged to them. So, here in this post, I would share one of the chains of questions that have made a home in the quietness of my thoughts.
Should life have a purpose? If yes, then what is that purpose? Is it the materialistic epitome of success or spiritual contentment of soul? Can there be a finality to any purpose or is it just a transient destiny waiting for us to find another elevated goal? So, if there isn’t any defined ONE purpose, does it mean we are stuck in a loop of journeying through a series of our misinterpreted goals? What if trying to achieve these man-made targets, we are drifting away from our MAIN unknown purpose, assuming everyone has one? But, what if, there is no purpose at all? All, it meant for us being on this planet was to JUST LIVE and that LIVING was only the purpose endowed to us?
I bet you must be either laughing at my silly concurrent questions or thinking deeply trying to figure out an answer. Well, whatever be the case just take a second and think is it too easy to LIVE your LIFE when actually your mind is lost trying to run behind some fake purpose while all this while you have taken for granted that the air you breathe, the smile you give away, the tears that you shed, the heart that beats for someone, the trees that give you shade, the mountains that call you, the love that makes you sleepless, the expectations that make you vulnerable, the slipping moments during the depression, etc…, which are nothing more than the elements of purpose to JUST LIVE.
I would love to be wrong. I would like to know about different perspectives.
Share your Quiet thoughts and spread the love.
Be Strong. Be Safe. Do Epic.
